The Muddy Part of Self-Esteem
Ever question if you are currently living the life that you are supposed to? Or wonder who you are or who you want to become? Or think that it’ll be difficult to be happy with yourself? Life does not have to be linear. We all have our ups and downs, our internal questioning, and our frustrations. When this happens, we usually struggle with our self-esteem or self-worth. It might feel like having fabric tennis shoes on your feet and stepping on mud the morning after a long rainy night. The more that you keep walking, the mud might get deeper because although you think you know where you are going, it might not be clear.
Working on our self-esteem is a lot of work and a lifelong job. It also happens that we live in an era where comparison is all around us, but luckily options are more accessible. It really is not something to be ashamed of. A LOT of people struggle with this. It just so happens that not all want to admit it, or have a difficult time opening up due to fear of judgment. That is okay, as long as you do not ignore it because if you do, there is a possibility that you will end up in a hole of mud up to your knees and that doesn’t feel good.
